Position:   Data Analyst

Term:          Full Time

Salary:       $100,000 to $110,000

Xceptional are excited to be partnering with a NSW Government department.

As a Data Analyst you will be undertaking research and quantitative data analysis of complex datasets across this portfolio – synthesising complex information from a range of sources to support the Directorate’s priorities and the strategic management of data linkage projects.

In this role you will be working on impactful statistics, reporting of data projects and data modelling on our new program. You will be partnering with other areas of the Directorate and utilise technology to model the impact of reforms and policy decisions.

This role will also see you constructing databases and reporting frameworks as well as responding to ad-hoc data requests, ultimately supporting the development of policy, funding models, programs, performance reporting and other Directorate priorities.

Ideal skills and experience:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or experience with a strong focus on data management or quantitative analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience within statistics, data analysis and data modelling.
  • Experience with visualisation tools such as Power BI.
  • Excellent research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills – able to present data insights to all types of stakeholders.
  • Uphold a commitment to ethical uses of data, including an understanding of privacy, data governance and data sovereignty.
  • Able to liaise with other team members and work individually.
  • Excellent command of programming languages such as R, Python, SAS, SQL or equivalent.

  • Provide technical expertise to support the enhancement of the quality of solution design and delivery to support the ICT / Digital strategy of the business.
  • Contribute to the design and testing of products and/or systems to improve quality, reduce operational risk and ensure compliance against agreed standards and guidelines.

You will be providing direction on how to make awesome Responsive PWAs running on various form factors. You will be working closely with our UX designers in building high quality components in Vue.js and/or Web Components.
